Decoding Faire+: The Gateway to Large-Scale Retail and Enterprise Growth

For many independent brands, the dream is to see their products on the shelves of regional chains, high-end hospitality groups, or major multi-location retailers. However, the "Enterprise Gap" the distance between selling to a boutique and selling to a procurement team is often filled with red tape, complex insurance requirements, and standardized vendor terms.

Faire+ was designed specifically to bridge this gap. If you’ve seen the prompt in your brand portal or are planning your Q4 expansion, here is everything you need to know about scaling with Faire+.

What is Faire+?

Faire+ is a specialized program that enables brands to meet the formal sourcing requirements of large retail partners without leaving the Faire ecosystem.

Large retailers (think regional chains, procurement teams, and hospitality groups) operate differently than independent boutiques. They require standardized agreements and proof of compliance. Faire+ brings these requirements into a single, streamlined workflow, allowing you to scale into "Big Box" or multi-location environments without managing separate custom contracts.

Who is Faire+ for?

Faire+ is built for brands ready to work with:

  • Multi-location retailers with dedicated purchasing departments.

  • Regional chains and hospitality groups.

  • Online-first retailers with high-volume procurement needs.

While these buyers place larger and more consistent reorders, they also demand higher compliance standards which is exactly what Faire+ manages for you.

The Compliance Key: Why Large Retailers Require Faire+

Why can’t you just sell to a major chain the same way you sell to a local gift shop? Large retailers follow formal processes that include:

  1. Standardized Vendor Terms: Fixed agreements that apply to all their suppliers.

  2. Liability Insurance: Proof that your brand is protected.

  3. Enhanced Data: Additional product attributes like standardized identifiers or specific dimensions.

Faire+ handles the invoicing, compliance, and payment, ensuring you don’t have to manage these complex workflows outside of the platform.

How it Works: Joining and Fulfilling

Joining Faire+ is currently available to select brands, with a wider rollout expected soon.

What if I get an enterprise order before joining?

If a large retail partner attempts to place an order and requires a Certificate of Insurance (COI), you will see a prompt in your portal. You then have two choices:

  • Accept & Enroll: Review the Faire+ terms, upload your COI, and fulfill the order. This makes you eligible for future enterprise orders.

  • Cancel & Decline: You can cancel the order with no penalty. You will continue to sell to independent retailers as usual, but you cannot fulfill that specific enterprise order without enrolling.

The Requirements for Onboarding:

  • Accept Fixed Terms: Large retailers require standardized agreements; these terms cannot be modified.

  • Upload a COI: A Certificate of Insurance proves you have active liability coverage (2+million dollar). This is a non-negotiable requirement for enterprise procurement teams.

Will Faire+ Change How I Sell?

The short answer: No. Faire+ is an expansion of your business, not a replacement.

  • Keep Your Independence: You still control which orders you accept or decline.

  • No Extra Fees: There are no additional fees to join. Your commission rates, payment terms, and pricing controls remain exactly the same.

  • Hybrid Selling: You can continue to sell to your smaller, independent stockists exactly as you do today. Faire+ simply adds a "Large Retailer" label to relevant orders so you can identify them easily.

Pro Strategy: Position Your Brand for the Surge

While Faire+ makes you eligible for enterprise orders, it doesn’t guarantee them. Order volume still depends on your product-market fit, pricing, and merchandising performance.

To maximize your Faire+ status for the upcoming Faire Summer Market 2026 (July 21–23), ensure your "Filter SEO" is optimized and your COI is ready for upload. Large buyers are looking for brands that are "ready to play" at their scale.
